They join Dr. David Merrill who received the 2024 Singleton Endowed Chair for Brain Health achievements and ongoing exploration.
Saint John’s Endowed Chairs
Endowed chairs represent one of the most prestigious recognitions in medicine. They highlight physicians whose work has advanced clinical care, education, and research — and they are made possible through the vision and generosity of philanthropic partners.
PNI doctors hold 3 of the 7 endowed chairs, established by Providence Saint John’s Health Center and their Foundation in 2024. We are profoundly grateful to have Dr. Kelly, Dr. Voelker and Dr. Merrill at PNI, leading with excellence and making a difference in the lives of our patients every day.

Impact of Endowments
Endowments are lasting legacies that reflect deep gratitude for the exceptional care individuals and families have experienced. They honor the enduring influence of a distinguished physician or program and are often inspired by the transformative role a doctor has played in a patient’s life. Holding an endowed chair is one of the highest honors in a physician’s career, representing both professional achievement and the trust of grateful donors. These funds create a permanent connection between donors and chairholders, supporting excellence that endures across generations.
Philanthropy is essential in sustaining this vision—providing the critical resources needed to advance research, foster innovation, and ensure the highest level of clinical care well into the future.
You can help shape a legacy of healing and discovery, honoring the care you or your loved ones have received while making a lasting difference for generations to come.
