Speech-Language Pathology Services at Pacific Neuroscience Institute
Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) is a specialized field dedicated to identifying, assessing, and treating disorders related to speech-language, swallow, voice, and cognition. At Pacific Neuroscience Institute® (PNI®), our SLP team provides personalized care and therapeutic interventions to help individuals improve their cognitive-communication skills and enhance swallow function.
Our goal is to optimize overall well-being and empower our patients to lead fulfilling lives. We achieve this by utilizing evidence-based practices and innovative therapies, ensuring that our patients receive the most effective and compassionate care possible.
Meet Our SLP Experts
What truly differentiates us is our devoted team of professionals. Let us introduce our skilled speech-language pathologists: Carol Park, MS, MA, CCC-SLP, and Romina Huerta, MS, CCC-SLP.
Carol is a highly experienced speech-language pathologist specializing in the evaluation and treatment of voice, speech-language, and swallowing disorders. With a particular focus on cancers of the head and neck, vocal fold pathologies, and neurological disorders such as stroke and Parkinson’s disease, Carol is well-versed in providing comprehensive care. By employing innovative and evidence-based treatment approaches, Carol creates tailored plans to address the unique needs of each patient. She is also certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) and draws upon her extensive experience to work with the total laryngectomy population and patients with tracheoesophageal prostheses (TEPs).
What I value most as a speech-language pathologist is in establishing meaningful relationships with my patients and their loved ones. The best part of my day is when I am able to witness a patient’s growth and improvements through therapy along with their hard, dedicated work.
Carol Park, MS, MA, CCC-SLP
Romina is a skilled speech-language pathologist who specializes in the evaluation and treatment of voice, speech/language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. With a focus on evidence-based, patient-centered care, Romina brings a wealth of expertise to our team. She is experienced in performing fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations of swallowing and videofluoroscopic swallow studies, utilizing these advanced techniques to provide thorough assessments. Romina is also trained in myofascial release for voice and swallowing disorders.
As a speech-language pathologist I get to help people with some of the most important parts of their everyday lives- communicating and eating. I love seeing my patients improving and enjoying simple pleasures such as a singing and eating their favorite foods. My hope is that we continue to expand the speech pathology program at PNI to better serve the needs of our community.
Romina Huerta, MS, CCC-SLP
