For the second year in a row, Pacific Neuroscience Institute (PNI) has been selected as a North American Skull Base Society (NASBS) Multidisciplinary Team of Distinction for 2021.

Only 22 institutions in North America have received the prestigious designation, and PNI was among 1 of only 3 such teams in the West Coast. The award underscores the importance of having dedicated skull base surgery teams with physicians and surgeons from various specialties, emphasizing a team-oriented focus to patient care.

PNI continues its commitment to a multidisciplinary approach to skull base surgery, involving its team of leading neurosurgeons, otolaryngologists, neuro-oncologists, neuro-ophthalmologists, and many others in providing top-notch, comprehensive patient care.

Conditions that benefit from skull base surgery include brain tumors, orbital tumors, and pituitary tumors. Research continues to show better outcomes in team-based skull base surgery, and this designation demonstrates PNI’s desire for innovation and excellence in this field. In combination with its use of minimally invasive skull base surgical techniques, PNI strives to provide modern, leading-edge treatment options for all patients.

Patients who come to PNI are guaranteed that they will be evaluated by expert physicians who come together and collaborate to come up with the most effective treatment plan and produce the best possible outcome. Skull base surgery is a very complex and challenging field, but with teamwork, everything is possible!
