At Pacific Neuroscience Institute (PNI), we are dedicated to advancing science and improving outcomes for patients through innovative clinical trials. Conducted in collaboration with Saint John’s Cancer Institute and our Providence hospital partners, our trials offer access to leading-edge therapies and treatments that may not yet be widely available.

What Are Clinical Trials?

Clinical trials are research studies designed to evaluate new therapies, diagnostic tools, surgical techniques, and care approaches. These studies are critical to improving the understanding, prevention, and treatment of neurological diseases and brain-related conditions.

Unlike standard care, clinical trials follow a strict research protocol and often explore:

  • Novel therapeutics (new drugs or treatments)
  • New applications of existing treatments
  • Advanced surgical methods
  • Quality of life interventions for patients and caregivers

Each clinical trial is reviewed and approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) to ensure that it meets rigorous ethical and regulatory standards. The IRB carefully evaluates the potential risks and benefits of each study to protect participants.

Who Can Participate?

Each clinical trial has specific eligibility requirements based on factors such as:

  • Age and sex
  • Type and stage of disease or condition
  • Medical history
  • Current health status
  • Ability to travel to our clinics in Santa Monica, California

How to Get Started

If you are interested in participating in a clinical trial at PNI, we invite you to complete a brief questionnaire. Your responses will help our clinical research team determine if there is a current or upcoming trial that may be appropriate for you.

Don’t worry if you can’t answer every question — a member of our team will follow up to review your eligibility and discuss next steps.

Please note: If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately. Do not rely on this website for urgent medical needs.
