Mihae Kim is an Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner specializing in the care of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. As a Dementia Care Nurse Practitioner at Pacific Brain Health Center, Mihae works closely with physicians and other multidisciplinary team members to provide a collaborative approach to managing these neurodegenerative disorders. Mihae helps patients and their families navigate their difficult journey by creating mutual goals and roadmaps through clinical evaluation, as well as providing guidance with medical, behavioral and psychosocial recommendations.
Prior to joining the Pacific Brain Health Center, Mihae worked as a Dementia Care Specialist with UCLA Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Program under UCLA Geriatric Medicine. She received an Edge Runner Award through the American Academy of Nursing for providing innovative models of comprehensive dementia care and helped develop Dementia Care Specialist Curriculum and Caregiver Education videos.
Mihae completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UCLA in 2011 and then earned her Master of Science in Nursing from UCLA with Adult Gerontology Primary Care Specialty in 2013. Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Mihae worked as a Registered Nurse at UCLA Cardiothoracic Surgery Intensive Care Unit for 6 years.
Mihae is a member of Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association, holds a national certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and has served as a board member at California Association for Nurse Practitioners. Mihae speaks English and Korean.
