Mary Ellen is the general counsel of Peninsula Pacific, a private equity fund headquartered in Los Angeles. Since joining Peninsula Pacific in July 2013, Mary Ellen has established the legal department and handles legal and business affairs aspects for greenfield development, acquisitions, dispositions, legal compliance, litigation, and investment.

Mary Ellen serves on the board of Concrete Pumping Holdings, Inc. and Vorteq Coil Finishers, LLC, two of Peninsula Pacific’s portfolio companies. Prior thereto, she served as a corporate partner at Latham & Watkins, where she practiced corporate law for over 25 years. Mary Ellen serves on the Board of Chrysalis, a nonprofit that serves the homeless and poor in the Los Angeles area, on the board of Providence Saint John’s Health Center, Pacific Neuroscience Institute Foundation, and on the Board of Trustees of the UC Berkeley Foundation.

She also serves on the Board Affairs Committee of Chrysalis and Saint John’s. Chris and Mary Ellen actively support Saint Matthew’s Parish and Mary Ellen serves on its Vestry as Chancellor.

Their positive experiences at Saint John’s, the caring staff and world class doctors motivated Chris and Mary Ellen to become involved with Saint John’s.
