Christopher M. Putman, MD, is a board-certified interventional neuroradiologist with specialty training in radiology. He treats a variety of complex intracranial, head and neck, and spine vascular conditions including acute stroke, cervical and intracranial stenosis, vascular malformations, cerebral aneurysm and venous occlusive diseases.
He has over 20 years of experience in performing minimally invasive procedures for brain aneurysms, carotid artery disease and other cerebrovascular conditions with coiling, carotid artery stenting, middle meningeal artery embolization for chronic subdural hemorrhage, and embolization for dural arteriovenous fistulas, brain AVMs and vascular malformations of the head and neck.
Dr. Putman has previously served as director of interventional neuroradiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Brigham and Women’s Hospitals at Harvard School of Medicine.
He also served as director of interventional neuroradiology at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Dr. Putman’s particular research interests in stroke and cerebral aneurysms have resulted in authorship and co-authorship of more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, and book chapters.
