Casey Ryan is a neurosurgery resident at the University of South Florida. She is originally from Brooklyn, NY, and a graduate of Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. Her research spans academic neurosurgery culture and workforce advocacy. This exploration covers a broad range of themes including social media’s role in education and gender representation in leadership, clinical outcomes work in general neurosurgery, such as traumatic brain injury and brain tumor surgery, and anatomic and cadaveric dissection studies refining surgical technique and approach. As she moves into senior residency, Casey is increasingly focusing her clinical and academic interests on skull base surgery and neuro-oncology.
