Annika Canta, MS, CCC-SLP
Annika Canta, MS, CCC-SLP is a speech language pathologist at Pacific Neuroscience Institute®. She specializes in treating patients with cognitive, motor speech, language, and swallowing disorders due to cerebrovascular accidents, traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, and neurodegenerative processes (including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease). She champions individualized, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. She is SPEAK OUT! certified.
Annika holds a BS in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University and a Masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders from MGH Institute of Health Professions. As a student she was awarded several accolades, including the NYU CSD Combined Strengths award for Academics, Research, and Service and the MGH IHP Julie Atwood Award for Excellence in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She facilitated aphasia community groups at Rusk Rehabilitation at NYU Langone, completed a 6-month clinical externship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and completed her clinical fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, specializing in outpatient neurological rehabilitation.
In addition to her clinical practice, Annika has a passion for research in speech-language pathology and published her undergraduate thesis work in the peer reviewed journal Clinical Linguistics & Phonetics.
