Ted, a native of Los Angeles, received a BS in business management from Woodbury University (1968). He then attended the United States Naval Academy. Completing a curriculum in naval science, Ted received an officer’s commission and was deployed to the South China Sea and Vietnam. While on duty in the Western Pacific, he served both ashore and afloat in mine warfare, intelligence and other operational assignments.

Following separation from active duty, Ted began a 17-year career in the high-tech industry, before associating with Miller & Desatnik Realty Corp., a prominent Westside investment real estate brokerage. Upon retirement, he established Compound Enterprises, a privately held corporation, where he continues to manage its real estate portfolio. Compound Enterprises is engaged in the acquisition and management of residential income, real estate assets throughout Southern California.

Ted and his wife Su-Z have resided in Santa Monica since 1984. He is a member of the board of directors of Pacific Neuroscience Institute Foundation and Saint John’s Health Center Foundation.
