Renee Ovando, RN, BSN, SCRN, has over 11 years of experience in stroke, neurovascular and cardiovascular care in the acute care setting helping to navigate patients from prevention, treatment, minimally invasive interventions to recovery and secondary prevention. She has worked in a variety of settings including the catheterization laboratories, critical care and has served as a clinical instructor for nursing students. She currently is the Stroke Program Manager at Providence Saint John’s Health Center and recently completed her Master of Science in Nursing as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner at Loma Linda University. Renee seeks to organize comprehensive resources for patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, cerebral aneurysms and other neurovascular disorders.
Renee has received the Loma Linda Alumni Merit Scholarship, the Daisy Award for Excellence in nursing, and has been nominated for multiple Values-in-Action awards at Providence Saint John’s. She is an active member of the American Association of Neuroscience Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society, and the California Association of Nurse Practitioners.
