J. Diego Lozano, MD, is an Interventional Neuroradiologist serving at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance, CA. By means of endovascular techniques, Dr. Lozano specializes in the minimally invasive treatment of acute ischemic stroke, cerebral aneurysms, and brain and spine arteriovenous (AV) shunts (malformations and fistulas). He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and American Board of Nuclear Medicine with fellowship training in Diagnostic Neuroradiology and Interventional Neuroradiology.
Dr. Lozano is a graduate of the National University of Colombia School of Medicine. After completion of his medical school he migrated to the United States and pursued his research interest in stroke. For approximately three years he worked at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis (Miami, FL) on neuroprotection strategies on a basic science preclinical model of acute ischemic stroke. Upon completing this research experience he went on to complete his residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He then pursued a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Neuroradiology, both also at the University of Miami. Dr. Lozano then further advanced his training at the University of Massachusetts (Worcester, MA) in Interventional Neuroradiology, where he received extensive training in neuro-endovascular techniques for the treatment of diverse cerebrovascular conditions.
Dr. Lozano is a member of the Society of Neuro-Interventional Surgery (SNIS), American College of Radiology (ACR), and Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
