Anubhab Mukherjee, PhD
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Department of Translational Neurosciences and Neurotherapeutics
Anubhab Mukherjee, PhD, is an experienced scientist who develops novel nano-formulations using several nanotechnology platforms, including liposomes, polymeric micelles, lipid-polymer hybrids, and albumins for both targeted and non-targeted delivery of therapeutics in oncology and neuroscience. He is a postdoctoral research fellow in Dr. Venkata Yenugonda’s Drug Development and Nanomedicine lab.
Dr. Mukherjee received his PhD from Department of Chemical Biology, CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, India. His research involved structure-activity study on cationic liposome-mediated delivery of drug and siRNA in cancer and mechanistic investigation of plasmid DNA nuclear import in lipofection.
After graduating, he worked as senior associate scientist at Invictus Oncology Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, India, where he was engaged in formulation development of an array of chemically modified APIs. Following this, he continued as a postdoctoral research associate at Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Health Science Center, Texas A&M University, where he was involved in PLGA-based drug delivery. Therafter, Dr. Mukherjee worked at Harvard University and the Laboratory of Nano-medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard-MIT Health Sciences & Technology as a visiting scientist for developing lipid and polymer based nano-carriers and demonstrating their applications in cancer research.
