About Leo Costa Jr

strokeLeo Costa Jr was a world class bodybuilder who had 3 strokes in 3 weeks, leaving him paralyzed 2 months before the biggest competitions of his bodybuilding career. He made the controversial decision to rehabilitate himself with no physical therapist. He rehabbed in the comfort of his own home for the first 4 months and then took his rehab into his personal training studio which he has owned and operated for 34 years. He used his knowledge from bodybuilding, being a fitness expert, and his knowledge of the body and what it is capable of, to rehab himself to a full recovery.  He researched non-traditional therapy and applied that to his rehab, which he believes was the icing on the cake.

His book, Three Strokes in Three Weeks Saved My Life, is a story of one man’s journey towards finding himself after tragedy struck. Other stroke survivors began to learn about him and his miraculous recovery. He began educating, motivating and empowering stroke survivors by speaking at stroke support groups across the country and sharing his story to anyone who was looking for the drive he could help provide. He founded the non-profit foundation, Stroke Warriors, an organization that helps provide the recovery needed to stroke survivors once their insurance has ended.
