Carol Park, MS, MA, CCC-SLP is a Speech-Language Pathologist at the Pacific Neuroscience Institute. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of voice, speech-language, and swallowing disorders due to cancers of the head and neck, vocal fold pathologies, and neurological disorders (including stroke and Parkinson’s disease). Carol has extensive experience performing videofluoroscopic swallow studies, fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations of swallow, comprehensive speech-language evaluations along with creating and implementing innovative, personalized, and evidence-based swallow, voice, and speech-language treatment for patients. She also works with the total laryngectomy population and patients with tracheoesophageal prostheses (TEPs). She is also certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT).

Career Highlights

Prior to joining the Pacific Neuroscience Institute, Carol was a Speech-Language Pathologist at Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank where she worked with a myriad adult population in both the acute and outpatient settings. She completed her clinical fellowship specializing in swallowing disorders in the Voice and Swallow Clinic at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin. Carol received her MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Teachers College, Columbia University and completed medical SLP externships at NYU Langone’s Rusk Rehabilitation and New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She was also a member of Dr. Georgia Malandraki’s Voice, Swallowing and Neuroimaging Lab and a recipient of numerous grants and fellowships including a career development grant with the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and a summer SLP clinical training program in Siem Riep, Cambodia.

Carol also holds an MA in Humanities from the University of Chicago and worked as an adjunct English instructor at local universities and community colleges in Southern California prior to her work as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
