If you, a family member or friend have been diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia, our team of experts is here to provide help and guidance. At the Pacific Facial Pain Center, our neurosurgeons and neurologists provide comprehensive care and minimally invasive keyhole surgery for trigeminal neuralgia, as well as patient education and support.

Trigeminal neuralgia is a facial pain syndrome due to dysfunction of the major nerve providing sensation to the face. There are numerous causes, the most common being a blood vessel compressing the nerve as it leaves the brain. There are numerous surgical and non-surgical treatment options for trigeminal neuralgia, but the most effective and lasting treatment is typically achieved with a procedure called microvascular decompression through a keyhole, endoscopic approach behind the ear. Other treatments include medication therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, and percutaneous (needle) therapies.  For other causes, the exact treatment is determined through a multidisciplinary team at our center.
