Anthony Arce, RMA, BSPH, is a medical assistant who provides patient support for Dr. Keith Heinzerling and Dr. Shanthi Gowrinathan at the Pacific Brain Health Center, Pacific Neuroscience Institute. He provides back-office support with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) as well as assistance with cancer psychiatry (psycho-oncology), addiction medicine, and treatment & research in psychedelics (TRIP) program inquiries. Anthony supports patients by answering questions and providing information about PNI services, scheduling, medication refills, specimen collection, and prior authorizations. He has over 10 years of varied medical experience including Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Infectious Diseases, Pediatrics, Hematology/Oncology and Minor Surgery.
In addition, Anthony is a Certified Level 2 Usui Reiki Healer and a member of The Center for Reiki Research which investigates by conducting, reviewing, archiving, and promoting scientific research on the effects/mechanisms of action of Reiki in modern medicine. Anthony is currently in training for his Usui Reiki Master level.
Before joining PNI, Anthony worked as a Care Case Manager with AIDS Healthcare Foundation and worked with the County of San Diego Specialty Programs for uninsured patients seeking HIV treatment and care. He graduated from Occidental College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Nursing Public Health. Anthony’s long term goal is to become a registered nurse to further assist patients with their needs and goals.
